2023 Syrup Season Begins at Maple Jack

Drilling into fresh, unstained, sugar maple wood.

The syrup season of 2023 is finally upon us and it's shaping up to be a great one! As the temperatures rise and fall just right, the sap will flow freely from the maple trees, and we at Maple Jack are ready to collect and turn it into the finest maple syrup you've ever tasted.

It's been a long time coming, but the conditions are finally perfect for tapping. The key to a successful syrup season is the right combination of temperature. Nighttime temperatures need to be below freezing, while daytime temperatures should be well above it, to encourage the sap to flow. The weather forecast for the next few days looks ideal for sap production, and we can't wait to get started.

On February 4th, I had the pleasure of tapping my trees with a few friends who also love the outdoors. Jack Pellechia, a Maine lobsterman, was there to lend a hand and speed up the process. Jake Doggett and Jamie Bayha did a fantastic job capturing the moments on camera. Having extra help made the tapping process go much more quickly, and it was great to have their help and company.

At Maple Jack, we take great pride in our syrup-making process. From tapping the trees, to collecting the sap, to boiling it down into the sweet, golden syrup you know and love, every step is done with care and attention to detail. We use traditional methods and techniques, and our syrup is always made to the highest quality.

So, as the syrup season of 2023 gets underway, we invite you to join us on this sweet adventure. Whether you're a longtime fan or a newcomer to the world of maple syrup, we guarantee you'll love the taste and quality of Maple Jack's syrup. So go ahead, pour some on your pancakes, drizzle it over your ice cream, or simply enjoy it straight from the bottle. Trust us, your taste buds will thank you.
